OVERVIEW
One of several communities in northern St. Johns county booming with growth, Aberdeen is a vibrant master planned community covering more than 1,300 acres of wetland conservation while maintaining enough undeveloped nature preserve for the “Old Florida” enthusiast. The community sits between Julington Creek Plantation and SR210, west of interstate 95 and Durbin Crossing. Aberdeen includes seven single family and two multi-family neighborhoods, totaling more than 1,000 residences and growing. Prospective residents are drawn to the excellent schools, community camaraderie and expansive recreational facilities, and proximity to shopping, restaurants, and major highways all while offering a large selection of new and existing homes ranging from the mid-200’s to the mid-400’s. It is home to Aberdeen Park (2 multipurpose fields and 4 softball fields), the Field of Dreams sports complex for children with intellectual or physical disabilities, and Freedom Crossing Academy, a K-8 school that opened it’s doors in 2018, just in time for the start of the school year.
Builders
You may find a few homes built in the early 2000s by other builders. But since the market plunge in 2007/2008 when DR Horton purchased all remaining lots and undeveloped property, they are the sole provider of new construction in Aberdeen. Fortunately, if your heart is set on new construction in this great community, there are plenty of options.
